How many boarding barns actually WANT borders around? How many barns add boarding as a side to their training and sales so they can make a few extra bucks but their real money is in training and lessons? How many boarding barns cater to a border to make it comfortable so they enjoy living with their horse and spending time with their horse? Do they really think of the boarder/horse owner relationship? Or do they just tolerate you because they have bills to pay?
I'm not going to lie, I have bills to pay as well. However, I designed a facility with myself as a border in mind. It's comfortable, has everything you need to enjoy your horse and enjoy some personal time, as well as time with friends. My horse time is a respite from the rest of the world. It's a respite from the daily grind of work and people and stress. I think a major part of the boarding experience is the relationship you can develop with your horse and your fellow horse women.
Having friends to experience and enjoy your horse life with is important to me! I opened my farm up to boarding a few years ago at a different location and it was great, but I didn't have the space I wanted. We were basically limited by the land. What I sought out and created is âmy heavenâ. I enjoy camaraderie and the fun of having a group of like-minded individuals who all have similar goals. We all want to love our horses, ride our horses and have fun and at the end of the day, tip our hat to each other and toast to this beautiful life we call â- the horse life.
I'm seeking like-minded individuals who value these attributes, plus want solid care for their babies, while understanding life is not perfect and it's also not cheap. Horses are horses and we can't always control 100% of their lives. We give them love, feed, friends and room to roam, but the rest is up to them!! That's me and that's my place. It's my personal heaven/haven and I'm looking for a few other like-minded people to enjoy this with.
